In the beginning - Getting Started

LL & Rick have started on their new adventure.

Getting ready. Property sub dividing drama close to the end. Waiting for the construction, water & sewer installation and final sign off for the recording - then the house will be officially sold, and the buyer has already moved in, so while we are hanging out - our adventure starts with staying with our friends - June 16, 2008.

The Mattheisen House invasion -
Week 1
First stop, loading a scaled down version of the office and moving it into the corner of the basement As Rick, Gloria and Nick experienced 6 hours of burning documents, The consensus was I kept three copies of everything, everything. So we are just keeping the last seven years, it is smaller then I thought, and Rick is thankful.
Eli has taken over the living area of the basement and Rick and I have stolen Morgans bedroom (she got to use her room for one week after coming home from Eastern. Morgan moved in with Nina in her room, and Striker and Zilgen have made some agreements on spots for laying around.

The girls are all busy, the weather has been great and maybe we picked the friend with the best view to hang out at first. Lake Washington facing north looking at downtown Seattle. Its an awesome view day or night, makes the "am I really Homeless?" concern a little less terrifying. Its also a great spot for Rick to get to his appointments and Eli to get to soccer fields.

Second interim stop - The Cook House sitting -
Week 2
Tammie and the boys went to their semi-decade family reunion in Colorado. The addition to the family, Mocha the puppy was in need of some company. Tammies Lake Wilderness house somehow has a great view, being there on Lake Desire.

We took a more portable version of the office to Tammies house. The shortplat recording paper work had to be completed, and it was helpful to use all that kitchen counter, dining room table, organ seat and some of the floor (this is what happens when your shortplat takes over 3 years) to get it put together and to find out how many duplicates I had.

Very hot the first weekend and it was nice to be at the lake. Eli got a day of hanging out with his friends at the lake, and Striker and Mocha were buddies. Striker had the same nap time as the puppy being the older dog he was a little worn out.

The big news for Striker is he jump off a dock into the lake all on his own. There was a lab that he was playing with next door that was the usual water lab chasing balls and sticks thrown in the lake. Striker went into the lake everyday by himself. Striker is now an official water dog.

Tammie got home and had a collective 4th of July event at the Lake. Its in the county so the real fire work enthusiasts were all there, Rick included and very happy. After spending the weekend at Tammies, we are heading back to the Mattheisen house.

Beautiful Days at Tammies

Had to keep a picture of all the shortplat paperwork

Back to The Mattheisen House -
Week 3
Continuing to enjoy the view and getting reset up a bit, we ended up making a few trips to Ninas for just a few things while staying at Tammies, now we know a little better of the "essentials".

This week is all about making sure the City and Contractor stay on track, which has already gone awry, hopefully because of the 4th of July holiday, and finishing up some paperwork to get make traveling and living in small spaces better. Hopeing that finishing up the prep work will coincide with the house plat recording.

Eli should have left by now to go back to Belgium, so waiting for that VISA and working on getting into training shape after his two month break.

On to The Irwin House -
Not sure of the weeks at this point but its August!

We moved on to the Irwin house at the beginning of August, giving Morgan her room at least a week before she has to leave back to college, Taylor back her bathroom privacy and Jordan back her downstairs where the Karaoke has been neglected due to our intrusion! Left most of the office to use when we could.

Mike, Linda, John, Missy the dog gave us a peaceful existance while we continued to keep the finalities of the property sale going. Eli left for Belguim with of course a tearful mother. A little stressful for him as his belongings seemed to be stored in multiple places. Missy seamed happy to co-exist with another dog, Ashley was not so happy to co-exist but survived.

The shortplat at this point has been approved but ran into the hurdles of recording the short plat, and a small problem of lenders starting to close up before our renter/buyer gets to the closing table. Ends up being a time of more pushing others thru what LL called an elephant thru a knot hole, then paperwork.

Back to the Cook House!
Another week in August
Another house sitting adventure with Mocha, she is a little older and very happy to see her pal Striker.

The drama gets real tight here on the property filing and sale, wondering if we are going to make it thru with the exception we have awesome friends and family and they will push us along if we go face down.

Mystery weekend
We decide we will give all friends a break and go to a hotel. As you go thru this process of the life style change you remind yourself that its all about learning. Lesson learned: Hotel stars on the internet do not mean a thing.

Back to the Irwin House
End of August

Once again enjoyed the wonderful Irwin house. Weather good, hanging out, and get the great Linda meals which of course added up to about 6 pounds. Trying to spend most our time researching trucks and trailers and costs. Moved the office to our room at Mike and Lindas and start weeding it out to be really mobile.

The property deal gets really intense now, we both just start to crack not due to a life style change; just trying to finish up the City drama and closing drama. It seems we are not going to get thru it without any scarring; definitely going to leave a stretch mark or two.

The short plat records and the house closes right after labor day. We are on our way to full timing!
