Weekly Journal - Hanging at Denny & Patty's Oregon

April 28th

We have arrived in Auburn, WA staying at the Eagles. We left Pleasant Hill last weekend after Ricky finished up some tile work for Denny & Patty to meet up with Eli and for Ricky to resume working for a few months while the market has some activity. Eli has signed with a team here in Washington after leaving Texas a few weeks ago. We plan to do some fishing and blues festivals in Oregon and Washington over the next few months. Currently we are planning on heading back south at the beginning of Fall.

April 21st, holey moley time has flown

Missed last week, oops. We have been here at Pleasant Hill, Or hanging with Denny & Patty. We spent the last week celebrating Patty's birthday. Its a great day to hang on the porch here in 83 degree weather, with the water flowing and the hawks flying above. We have had day travels to Dexter lake, drives up the McKenzie hwy towards Bend. We drove up to Sahalie Falls, there was still snow in the parking lot but it was 70 degrees and a beautiful day. We checked out camp spots on the way back to Springfield. Its a beautiful area and most likely is heavily visited in the summer. We stopped and saw sturgeon in some ponds at one of the fish hatchery's along the McKenzie river. The biggest sturgeon looked like it was 6' long. The ponds also had rainbow trout that were beautiful. The water in the river and lakes is absolutely clear. The river looks like a great rafting river, the water is too cold for that now but we may try it later in the year when visiting. We will have to get some pictures posted this week, the camera has had problems so will have to get them from Patty's camera. We will be heading out at the end of the week.......

Ricky at Sahalie Falls

April 6th

Our reservations were up on April 3rd at Bolsa Chica, checking out the weather forecast a 5 day high wind storm was expected for east of LA and Yuma and we decided to head where the weather was good at Denny & Patty's. We left early Friday morning, stopped in Shasta overnight and arrived at Denny & Patty's Saturday afternoon. The weather has been 75 and looks like it may be cloudy but no rain in forecast. We are planning to get cleaned up, after staying at the beach for a month we took the easy way of being at the comfort of the Setzers', instead of doing it on the road. Striker needed a serious day of beauty after being a sand dog. The trailer needed an extra bath, we had washed it while at the Huntington Beach RV Resort, but we were lucky they allowed us to wash the trailer there. LL has to finish the preparation of the lawsuit for the person that caused damages on our property sale and subdivision, and we wil be able to do some needed planning for our next leg of the journey.

Sunday Denny & Patty had tickets to a Tropical Drink class at a local bar called Two Friends pub in Springfield, OR. We attended class with them and continued to 3 bars from there as Denny cannot just go to one bar, its against the Denny Rules Some pictures will be posted of the festivities.
